Conrad frmdaaves

It ain't overnight. It's a build-up. I knew the music was there. I kept working until the people heard what I heard.

00 — In his words

The code behind the music.

Not a press-release personality. These are the ideas Conrad comes back to when he talks about music, business, discipline and staying in his own lane.

Swipe the mindset
01 / Build-up
“It ain't overnight. It's a build-up.”

The record may hit in one summer. The belief, the setbacks and the work came first.

02 / Sound
“The vibe is everything.”

The beat has to leave room for the person—not force the person to become somebody else.

03 / Bout A Bag
Be about the bag before the bag shows up.

Intentions first. Work first. The mindset creates the motion before the money confirms it.

04 / Vision
“Stay in your own world.”

Protect the picture in your head long enough to build it where everybody else can finally see it.

05 / Focus
“Mental real estate.”

Clear out what has nothing to do with where you are going. Energy only stretches so far.

06 / Execution
Build the catalog. Get it done.

Put the work out. Season yourself in public. Every release teaches the next one how to land.

01 — No overnight story

I just kept doing the work.

The clean version is one hit record. The real version is years of writing, tattooing, rebuilding, learning the business and making music when there was no proof it would pay off.

01 / Outside

Raised by moms. Raised outside.

Conrad grew up in Hyde Park with his mother working and a deep circle of family and neighborhood friends around him. He has described himself as both a good student and a kid who stayed in trouble—smart enough to see options, young enough to keep testing the edges.

02 / The pen

Writing gave the time somewhere to go.

He began developing verses during incarceration, writing over the rhythms of records he could hear. The craft started on paper. Later, once he learned to record himself, the process became looser, faster and more conversational.

03 / The first turn

Tattooing was the craft. Music became the exit.

He returned home focused on tattooing and music. A breakout record changed the balance. The audience chose the music, and he followed the signal.

“I was becoming a real rapper by the people’s choice.”

04 / The affirmation

Vintage & Adventurous did not create the belief. It confirmed it.

The song became a Los Angeles anthem and a major streaming record. Conrad has described that moment less as arrival and more as affirmation: proof that the years of betting on the music were not wasted.

That is why the site does not frame one record as the finish line. In his language, it was the beginning—and once he had the tools, it was time to get back to work.

02 — Music that fits me

The beat gotta leave room for the person.

Picky with the production. Loose in the booth. Conversational in the pocket. The sound works because it feels lived in—not manufactured to fit a template.

03 — We got our own world

Bout A Bag is bigger than a dollar amount.

It is the switch in the mindset: act with intention, build before permission arrives and keep the operation close enough to protect the vision.

01 / Intentions
I

Be about it before you got it.

The motion starts in how you think, what you prioritize and what you are willing to build without applause.

02 / Studio
V

All our vibes.

A small producer circle, a self-built studio and enough freedom to find a pocket without chasing somebody else’s sound.

03 / Ownership
B

The business gotta make sense.

Independent has ups and downs, but any outside opportunity has to be genuine—and it has to believe in what is already rolling.

04 / Catalog

Do it. Put it out. Grow.

Do not let strategy become paralysis. The people choose what connects. Every release seasons the artist.

“Nobody can see what you see until you demonstrate it.”
The skyline changes. The source stays the same.

Los Angeles

Every city has an image people recognize. Conrad’s Los Angeles is more specific: blue-hour palms, Crenshaw traffic, Hyde Park blocks and the route back to 10th Avenue.

04 — The Ave

The name came from the coordinates.

10th Avenue between 63rd Street and Hyde Park Boulevard. A small piece of South Los Angeles that became permanent inside the artist name.

I am not from a marketing version of Los Angeles. I am from the place that gave me the name—and from the people who already knew the story before the streams caught up.

Conrad has described himself as born and raised on 10th Avenue: a creative kid who was outside, got good grades, got suspended and learned early that identity can hold contradictions.

The years away sharpened the writing. Coming home turned tattooing into a profession and music into a possibility. Then the records started moving, and the possibility became a responsibility: keep building without letting other people rewrite the vision.

The later perspective is not about staying trapped in the same cycle forever. It is about knowing the consequences, elevating, leading by example and getting back to your true self without pretending the past never happened.

05 — Mental real estate

Protect the energy. Keep the vision.

The most interesting interview insight is not about one record. It is how Conrad connects discipline, focus, ownership and creative identity into the same operating system.

01 / Clear it out

Not everything deserves room in your head.

Drop what has nothing to do with the destination. Focus is not infinite; spend it like it matters.

02 / Keep your script

Do not let nobody dim your light.

Advice is easy to give. Vision belongs to the person who can see it before the room is built.

03 / Keep going

The legacy is that I did not stop.

Different situations. Same direction. Keep the work alive long enough for the life around it to change.

Interview insight / Process

He lives life first, then talks it into the mic.

Rather than over-preparing every record, Conrad has described his current process as living the day, finding the right beat and turning whatever is present into the song.

Interview insight / Business

Opportunity has to believe in what is already moving.

His standard for outside business is not simply access. It has to make sense, feel genuine and respect the existing vision.

The legacy he described is persistence without losing the energy and personality that made the work worth doing.

08 — Quick answers

What people ask.

A Los Angeles hip-hop artist and entrepreneur raised on 10th Avenue in Hyde Park, in the Crenshaw District. He is known for an animated, conversational delivery and independent Bout A Bag identity.

It is a mindset: operate with intention and be about the work before the result arrives. Conrad has framed it as being about the bag even before you have the bag.

He is selective about beats, looks for a pocket where he can remain himself and often builds songs by punching in and talking through what he has lived or noticed.

Apple Music lists “OGYN,” released July 16, 2026, as the latest release when this page was prepared.

The official catalog is available through Apple Music, Spotify, YouTube, Deezer and other major streaming services.
